Denmark and our land of freedom, [undated] / by George Theodore Smith.

Smith, who emigrated from Denmark in 1883, settled near New Ulm, Minnesota, and later moved to River Falls, Wisconsin, recalls his early experiences in Denmark and difficulties there under German rule of the Danish provinces of Schleswig-Holstein (1864-1918); his work as a Wisconsin logger; his career as a butcher, volunteer fireman, and organizer of several businesses in River Falls; his family; trips to Denmark made by Smith and members of his family; World War I; and his experiences in the 1920s and 1930s.
